Plant-based Immunomodulators and Their Potential Therapeutic Actions

چکیده

Immunomodulation is a diverse process by which immunomodulators enhance or suppress immune responses to control disease progression. Immunomodulators are broad class of drugs that include immunosuppressants and immunostimulants. These agents have been used fight against the dysregulated observed during tissue/organ transplantation disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, cancers. obtained from myriad plant sources major compounds known medicinal properties for treatment various diseases. However, mechanisms underlying action plant-derived poorly understood. Here, we discuss classes plant-based with examples their effects on signaling pathways, nuclear factor kappa light chain enhancer activated B cells (NF-κB), mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), mammalian target rapamycin pathways. Importantly, preclinical clinical research date understand importance these immunomodulators. Overall, this review highlights significance an alternative therapeutic strategy combating

Immunomodulators in tick saliva and their benefits.

Ticks are significant bloodsucking ectoparasites. Apart from causing blood loss and host skin damage, ticks are important vectors of tick-borne pathogens that cause disease in humans and animals as well as significant economic loss. For biological success, ticks evolved these substances with immunomodulatory activities capable of inhibiting host defence reactions (haemostasis, inflammation and ...

Harnessing the Helminth Secretome for Therapeutic Immunomodulators

Helminths are the largest and most complex pathogens to invade and live within the human body. Since they are not able to outpace the immune system by rapid antigen variation or faster cell division or retreat into protective niches not accessible to immune effector mechanisms, their long-term survival depends on influencing and regulating the immune responses away from the mode of action most ...

Heparin Mimetics: Their Therapeutic Potential

Heparin mimetics are synthetic and semi-synthetic compounds that are highly sulfated, structurally distinct analogues of glycosaminoglycans. These mimetics are often rationally designed to increase potency and binding selectivity towards specific proteins involved in disease manifestations. Some of the major therapeutic arenas towards which heparin mimetics are targeted include: coagulation and...

Natural toxins and their therapeutic potential.

Plants have been extensively investigated for exploring their therapeutic potentials, but there are comparatively scanty reports on drugs derived from animal kingdom, except for hormones. During last decade, the toxins that are used for defense by the animals, have been isolated and found useful tools for physiological and pharmacological studies, besides giving valuable leads to drug developme...

Plant-derived immunomodulators: an insight on their preclinical evaluation and clinical trials

The phagocyte-microbe interactions in the immune system is a defense mechanism but when excessively or inappropriately deployed can harm host tissues and participate in the development of different non-immune and immune chronic inflammatory diseases such as autoimmune problems, allergies, some rheumatoid disorders, cancers and others. Immunodrugs include organic synthetics, biological agents su...
